EST. NYC 2020 — AKL 2026

THE STORY

Queens began with a simple idea: it should be easier to find the quality materials and technical support that artists actually need.

Artist Nicolas Holiber founded the business in 2020 in Queens, New York, after more than a decade working in the New York art world. As a painter with an active studio practice since 2010, Nicolas recognized the need for a more transparent, artist-led approach to art materials and services.

Before founding Queens, Holiber's industry work included large-scale studio production, set fabrication, art handling, and installation. He's encountered just about every material and technical problem that comes up.

In 2026, Nicolas relocated the workshop to Auckland to bring that same standard to the local creative community. Now based in Henderson, Queens remains dedicated to providing artists, galleries, and collectors with quality materials and technical support.
